PROJECT BRIEF (as set by me as part of this week's field study): to photograph morning preparations for the school fair, before it opened – both the stallholders and the school parents who worked so hard to bring it all together. I didn't have permission to photograph the children, and I only had up to 2 hours in total to cover everything. I took around 300 shots (including a few burst mode), drilling it down to about 25 key ones to give to the school. 

CHALLENGE: my own limited camera equipment! No flash; no time really to have a tripod set up (possibly I could have done for Santa's Grotto); F4 stop was my minimum, but set it pointlessly to F5 (consciously thinking I didn't want too shallow a depth of field, but in hindsight . . . . )

The lighting and architecture of the hall housing the fair was tricky indeed; I added a bit of Vignette to just give it a bit of 'oomph', using the vignette in the Grotto shots to set the tone. 

I forgot to do any establishing shots - so lesson learnt there!
